🔍 What We Are Looking For (Asset Management Requirements)

We are evaluating asset management platforms to support accurate tracking, accountability, and full lifecycle management of company-owned equipment. The system must allow us to start with a clean inventory, with all assets added intentionally by IT—no automated discovery or bulk imports.

🧱 Core Requirements (Must-Have)

📦 Asset Onboarding & Inventory Control

• Manual Asset Creation Only
  • No automatic network scanning or discovery
  • No bulk import functionality
  • All assets are added manually to ensure accuracy and ownership validation
• Asset creation process should be simple, structured, and repeatable

🏷️ Asset Tagging & Labeling

• Generate and print barcode or QR code asset labels
• Support for custom tag formats:
  • Asset ID
  • Serial number
  • Hostname (if applicable)
• Labels suitable for laptops, desktops, scanners, printers, and peripherals
• Ability to reprint or replace tags without affecting asset history

🔁 Check-In / Check-Out & Accountability

• Assign assets to:
  • Individual employees
  • Departments or cost centers
  • Locations or sites
• Track:
  • Issue date
  • Expected return date
  • Return confirmation
• Maintain full custody and assignment history per asset
